Distribute Opportunity’s Revenue Forecast Over Many Months
REQUIREMENT
Many clients use NetSuite to drive sales and forecast revenue, but for many businesses with distribution, services or subscription models, a given Opportunity’s revenue is going to be distributed over months, or years, long after the Closed Date.
ISSUE
NetSuite presents sales forecasting well for opportunities that end in a large sale, but has no solution to show that potential revenue forecast to be distributed over an extended period.
SOLUTION
We designed a very easy to use and report solution that allows users to manage the distribution of forecast revenue on any given Opportunity.
Users select Periods (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Annually) and Duration (quantity)
A real-time automation creates a custom Periodic Revenue Forecast record for each period required with apportioned Revenue applied from Opportunity Amount.
Forecast Reports are easily customized to show Opportunity Amount distributed across Month columns.
For example, Opportunity of $120k over 12 Months = $10k per month.
Users with permission may edit any given Periodic Revenue Forecast record as required
