Distribute Opportunity’s Revenue Forecast Over Many Months

REQUIREMENT

Many clients use NetSuite to drive sales and forecast revenue, but for many businesses with distribution, services or subscription models, a given Opportunity’s revenue is going to be distributed over months, or years, long after the Closed Date.

ISSUE

NetSuite presents sales forecasting well for opportunities that end in a large sale, but has no solution to show that potential revenue forecast to be distributed over an extended period.

SOLUTION

We designed a very easy to use and report solution that allows users to manage the distribution of forecast revenue on any given Opportunity.

  • Users select Periods (Weekly, Monthly, Quarterly or Annually) and Duration (quantity)

  • A real-time automation creates a custom Periodic Revenue Forecast record for each period required with apportioned Revenue applied from Opportunity Amount. 

  • Forecast Reports are easily customized to show Opportunity Amount distributed across Month columns.

  • For example,  Opportunity of $120k over 12 Months = $10k per month.

  • Users with permission may edit any given Periodic Revenue Forecast record as required
